Join us for this seven day course and learn traditional carving techniques and walk your marionette out of the workshop. The puppet style designed by Ronnie Le Drew and Caroline Astell-Burt integrates John Wright's jointing allowing for very beautiful dance-like movement as well as functional walking.
Over the seven days you will be introduced to key puppet making concepts found in carving and marionette jointing. Participants often meet hand and electric tools and materials for the first time so this course is foundational for anyone planning a serious study of puppetry. You will work in a variety of materials
There is some shared accommodation available through the school but this fills up quickly. Some students book bed and breakfast accommodation in the village of Grassington.
Be enthralled as your marionette comes to life during this exciting intensive course.
