The Diploma in Professional Puppetry 2019

It starts 2nd February followed by various dates finishing on 31st August (First Year)  after making, rehearsing and performing types of glove, hand, body, and shadow puppetry.  This Course also contains some shadow work including Burtie’s Method which can be found on You Tube. The first week of the Course explores rod puppetry and the art of puppetry in education and therapy with special emphasis on puppetry and dementia care. The Diploma is completed in 2020. Although at least one month of the Summer School is mandatory it is possible to combine it with working through the year on SlowTrack modules.

In general teaching takes place in Derby, with masterclasses taking place in London as well as other events.

Full fees are £6,400 for the two years of the Dioloma including assessment fees, and classes. There are three bursary places available which considerably reduce the fees to £3,900. Currently, there is particular emphasis on applicants who are committed to the development of the art of puppetry in education and therapy.
