Shadow puppet-theatre and the acquisition of a second language: an exploration.
This is a hands-on Course with experienced tutors. You will make puppets and perform with them each day of the Course. Discussion will play a large part in enabling participants to plan their use of puppetry in their workplace after the course. The aim is to achieve a transferable confident handling of the physical materials and technology of shadow puppetry to enable the development of a linguistic presence either as a speaker moving from a foreign language to English or from English to a foreign language.
- Playing with shadow theatre and music exploring body puppets “feeling language.”
- Making puppets and performing narratives.
